Welcome To Common Unity Place

As human beings, communities play a crucial role in every facet of life. Connections with family, friends, colleagues, the neighborhoods in which we live, the local businesses we support, even the sporting events we attend provide us with a sense of place. Being part of a community makes us feel like we belong to something larger than ourselves. A healthy community connects us with people who share common interests, encourage us to set personal goals and journey alongside us in challenging times.

At Common Unity Place (CUP) we believe in fostering the kind of cooperative spirit that embraces the best and strongest part of teamwork from individuals and organizations. We see the inherent worth in everyone and strive to connect individuals to the resources they need to empower and transform their lives. A community nurtured in empathy, compassion, and kindness promises a better future for us all.

We have made it our goal to be the popular drop-in center where you can always expect a
warm welcome, conversation, support for life’s challenges, and the opportunity to give support to others.

CUP collaborates with a variety of community partners and local volunteers to offer a weekly Café, a Community Clothes Closet, a Personal Care Pantry, space for weekly social service resource specialists, and space for weekly, monthly, and annual meetings and events.

Common Unity Place is a Place for All!

We offer easy access to basic needs such as free food, clothing, and personal care items with no questions asked.

We are addressing poverty and food insecurity by providing free nutritious meals through our Tuesday Evening Meal Program and free lunches at the C.U.P. Café on Wednesdays.

By working collaboratively with other resource and service providers, we are building a greater sense of community and place for all.

The Clothes Closet

The closet is open Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 p.m. & 5pm-7pm. Our Team Leader is available to make special arrangements to open the Closet to address emergency needs.

If you have difficulty in making it to the closet during our hours of operation, you can set up an appointment with our Team Lead, Amy Rouse at 207-441-5746.
